Business cards at Tescos

If you ever visit Tescos in Gillingham then pick up one of my cards from the saving stamp machine advertising board. Pass it onto your friends.

See you all soon!!

Websites

Sunday has turned out to be a nice day, and will hopefully continue on Monday. Been watching recorded TV and generally lazing around after a week of rain and hard work.

Booked now until middle of June is fine, not sure if future enquiries will wait that long, but I suppose if they feel we are the best then the wait would be worth it.

We are in a great position too, we have secured two great schemes, one in Shorne the other in Sidcup.

Fencing, decking, and a Bespoke paving scheme in Shorne.

The work just seems to be flooding in at the moment. We pride ourselves on a specialising in Decking and Patios.

The word is getting around through two websites, one is getting the work at the moment, the other has only just begun, so early days on that.

Still better to have two bites at the cherry then none.

See you all soon!!!

Visits 45

getting quite a few visits to the site 45 views from Gillingham in the last 24 hours alone, other areas were chatham, gravesend, sittingbourne, rochester. Great, give me a call if you need some work done.

Hope you like the site

see you all soon!!!

Three Done

Three done, three to go, still its great the enquiries are coming in, one on this Saturday is from a customer we did a deck and raised beds last year, they require some extra work done, lovely to get work this way.

See you all soon!!

Mobile

The mobile side of my website is going really well, its the side that only mobile devices like blackberry and ipad and others can search for my site, the site activity counter has given me searches from Chatham, Maidstone, Greenhithe, Rochester, rainham, gillingham, and others a little further afield, here the site gives you me an indication of where and what people are searching for.

Another good thing is that it allows to advertise where the most searches are.

See you all soon!!!

Local Mags

Another quote to do, and a further two visits tomorrow, starting a deck on Tuesday, so that should be good. All together I am pleased.

Hope to hear from at least one of them. Another day tomorrow.

The website is getting more and more visits, which is great. Adverts in the Medway Guide and hopefully The Net might bring some more good news, so expensive in some of these mags, but has to be done, lets hope they live up to the hype the staff of these mags are saying.

Rogue Advert

Advertising is a must, word and mouth only goes so far, the cost of it though is sometimes rather silly.

Companies ring me up at least once a week, saying that they can do this and they can do that, costing a fortune and none of it happening.

I would have to get the tree planted that they seem to think money grows on.

Today for instance, get a phone call, from a UK Directory company, they said that my search engine optimisation is up for renewal, and it will cost £149 plus vat for 18 months, sounds good I thought, but I do not remember taking it out in the first place so how can it be up for renewal. Getting old I suppose, cant remember things, checked in my bank account and paperwork, not a thing.

See you all soon!!

Bing

Many people in the region are veiwing my website which is good news, 8 people in Gravesend in the last 24 hours, other areas as well.

I am wondering how they find me, google seems to be the normal way, I was wondering how many people use Bing as a way of searching, microsofts Bing is becoming a force or perhaps it is has always been that way.

I am going to give it a try and put an advert on it and see the response I get.

Advertise

Our Patios and Decking are always the right choice, we only use locally sourced materials.

Well the motto has proved to be a hit, visitor numbers are up, in the last week I have had over 1250 people look at my site, which is great news.

We are waiting for the rush, been held back a little because of the snow I guess, but this week coming warmer weathe is on its way.

The time has come to advertise as usual, but this is costly word and mouth works for me but that goes only so far.

See you all soon!!

Chatham job

All done at Chatham, laying a driveway now in strood. The decking and fence in the chatham garden and the slate scree. Gives a garden a lift, from what was an unusable plot into a family friendly garden ready for the summer.

Material Cost

Moring all, still waiting upon the bexley job, starting a new scheme on Monday in strood as said in previous blogs, going to reaserch some items on the web, need to get the cost of materialos down as far as possible to give my customers the very best for less.

It maybe time to alter the way I quote as well, I do some feed back to acheive this of course, but in the meantime I will research some other means.

Getting an account open with another supplier, hopefully, should be fine just waiting to hear from them.

To all who read this I would be grateful to feedback as regards to material cost.

See you all soon!!!

Digger

Morning all, still at walderslade this week only, getting a mini digger hired for the next job on Monday, in Strood. Clearing an area ready for the landscaping scheme the customer requires.

Should be good.

See you all soon!!

Lights and Decking

Decking is still very popular, it is my favourite product, next to patios, but there is so much you can do with timber that you cant do with paving. For instance, you can choose what colour you really want, as opposed to having what is made, decking is a lot warmer and softer than concrete or natural stone.

A lot more versatile when it comes to design, shapes and slopes. Decking is made for slopes, it makes a sloping garden into a family plot you can all enjoy safely.

Decking lights are so fantastic now, so many different designs and colours. You can even get a set of them which includes a programmer to switch on and off to the beat of music, comes complete with a white suit for the man to wear, HaHA. No really it is really cool to watch the lights flicker even when you talk. They are of course all low wattage and very safe.

links

I have just added twitter, facebook and linekin onto my home page as links check them out.

Levels of sand and top dressing

Another little trick, next time your lawn is in need of a fix give it a "top dressing" of some compost or sharp sand brushed into the lawn and left to rest, this not only feeds the lawn but help with drainage. Also if you have had astro turf laid either by us or you may have laid it yourself, it might be worth checking the levels of the kiln dried sand that we brushed into the pile, after a while this needs to be topped up, rain and wind can sometimes wash or blow the sand level down. Just empty the bag onto the pile and using a broom with soft bristles brush it in.

Or you can give us a call and for a small charge we can do it for you.

Hello I have a change to the website hope you like it. The old one was looking a bit tired so it was about time I updated it. The message is still the same good quality products for everyone at affordable rates. See you all soon !!

Decking

Another huge deck nearly completed, 93 Deck boards on this one, looks great!! This one is in Minster Isle of Sheppey.

Wooky

Keeping the Patio theme moving, we have today finished another one. This one was for a husky breed called Malamute, his name was "wooky" great dog very friendly. The area was 45 x 45cm light grey slabs 100 in total, channel drainage at the end, after washing down the slabs, at the end of the paving was a large Kennel, I do mean large, complete with railings and a 8 x 4ft shed like kennel. Great area for the dog to roam around!! Happy roaming wooky!!

New Products soon

Pleased that we now back on track. After a soaking week. Looking ahead for the winter months we will have new products and great prices. Something for all the family.

See you soon!!

Decking

Decking is a product that over the past several years has grown to be a popular feature in the garden.

To it right takes a little more than perhaps the DIY we all have a go at. The two main tasks are, it must be square, the frame must be at right angles, and of course it must strong enough to take a family gathering. Supported and fixed.

for your next decking project let us take the strain, visit the rest of the site and call us now!!

Astro Turf

Astro Turf is a great product and can save you money, visit the site to have a look for more details

See you all soon!!

Deal on Astro Turf

Sunday evening once more, has been a good weekend, seen a couple of jobs today so got to do the quotes, still a little time yet to get them done. Just watched Zorro on TV again, like the film seen it a couple of times now. Looking out into the area and the fields out of my window, it is very quite, nice and peaceful, watch something spoil it.

Wherever you are hope you have had a great weekend. Have a look at the rest of the site.

Have got a special deal coming soon on the Astro Turf service!! Keep visiting!!

Grateful customers

It is so good to be appreciated for the work we do, a customers testimonial is worth its weight in gold, the latest scheme we have done in Rainham, they were so pleased, not only do we get a tip from them they took the time to send us an email,

" Hi Peter,

Just wanted to say how thrilled I am with the garden. You and Neil worked really hard and have done a great job I am so pleased - thank you.

Phil tells me you are going to draw up a planting scheme for us which would be great. We want to go for as many evergreens as we can but we still want colour. There are a few plants I particularly like; if you can try to incorporate some of them that would be great.

The bottlebrush plant will get to 5 or 6 ft so I think it needs to go next to the fence on the left as you look down the garden from the patio perhaps where the two beds meet. I also really like the idea of the willow screening you suggested to Phil.

Thank you so much for your help and for doing a great job for us. We would be very happy to give you a written testimonial for the website if you need one or you can give our house number to any prospective customers who want a verbal reference.
Regards
Judy"

I am doing the planting list for them over the next two days.

Jack the lad

Looking great this year so far, created a better way of working which creates better gardens for everyone, its not that we got it wrong in the past, but now its a simpler way. Decking and Patios are my main income, great suppliers are the key and thats exactly what i have got. A good work force as well, me included, makes some of the others think twice I reckon.

Although price is a great decider, but to bear in mind when you are spending money on your garden the last thing you want is for it to go wrong. "Jack the lad with a lorry" will always be there, but will he be there if it goes wrong?

Our prices are very good for what you get, a good job, great workman and locally sourced materials.

See you all soon!!

Card payments

Card payments now are a must for some, and the business world need them. I am still taking cheques which quite frankly take too long to clear, It fails me to know why it takes up to six days for the money to clear, are the banks too slow. I am interested in taking card payments which would increase sales, but I need a mobile device to do this as I run a garden landscaping business and always in someones garden. A mobile phone would be great can anyone help me choose which phone if any is the best one.

Turbogold

Sunday again, starting a new scheme on Monday, this one is a some decking, raised flower beds made from railway sleepers. The whole scheme is my customers idea planned out and it will look great.

Have been using Turboscrews on decking for a few jobs now and they are very successful. They hold the cordless tip very well, and drive into the wood with ease.

I know I should get out more talking about materials like this.

see you soon

Handyman

Repair is Better to Replacement of Wooden Doors

Wooden doors are more prone to damage if they are exposed to humid temperature, sunlight and rain. Repair of wooden doors is a less expensive and is comparatively more feasible option as compared to replacing them altogether. Wooden doors can be repaired by using high-quality products, which ensure their long life.

Wooden doors are indispensable to a home. They help in the beautification of a home. Usually householders buy unfinished doors at cheap rates and try to use finishes available in the market. But these finishes are not long lasting and it leads to wood rot. There are many reasons behind wood rot, for instance, weather damage, water damage or extreme sunlight.
We use doors day-in and day-out. They are more prone to damage, if there are kids who run around the home all the time, opening and closing the doors. Though, a professional handyman service in London can repair a wooden door in no time. Here are a few tips to repair various kind of problems that can lead to malfunctioning of a wooden door.
Repairing a door that binds in humidity
Humidity or extreme temperatures can cause a door to swell. Sometimes a buildup of dirt and paint also damages on the door edges also leads to swelling. This paint buildup or dirt also prevents the door from opening and closing easily. A good quality finish protects the wood from weather and water damage.
Repairing a door that drags across the floor
If the door is not fitting into the jamb and its top edge is more than 1/4 inch out of level, it is the reason behind its dragging across the carpet or the floor. Repair any bent hinges and clean the door thoroughly of the accumulated paint and dirt. The immediate remedy to this problem is to replace the center screw of the upper hinge with a longer screw.
Repairing a rattling door
A wooden door rattles when the door stopper is not tightly fitted. Position the door stop on the latch-side jamb. If your wooden door rattles, when the wind blows, then install a resilient weatherstripping around its perimeter.
Repairing a cosmetic damage
Splits and cracks appearing in a wooden door can be repaired by using wood glue. If the door is not locking or latching, you can fix it on your own by making use of a screwdriver. Try to remove and realign the plate into which the lock fastens.
Make sure that you re-paint your wooden door, at frequent intervals of time to protect the integrity of the wood from any moisture damage. Aways use non-abrasive cleaners, which are specially designed for wooden doors. If you have kids in your home, you may advise them to open and close the doors carefully. You must consider installing thicker doors for shops and offices, as people keep coming in and going out frequently.

Planning

Saw a lovely garden scheme today, you know when you see the good ones, some ideas work some do not, this one did.

It was planned out, and much thought went into the scheme, even down to the flower beds.

A summerhouse/shed is also planned for this one, not by us I hasten to add, its far cheaper to get the shed companies to make and build one for you. We can do the bases though.

Summer time

Its Sunday traditionally a day of rest, but for most of us its just as busy as other days if not busier. We all long for those days when we can relax in the garden on that deck or patio, wash the car on your new driveway.

Summer is not far away, and now is a great time to start thinking about the type of family garden you would like, and it may cost less than you think. Todays materials are made to suit all budgets, timber Decking and paving is still the two most popular products, and will continue to be so.

But if we are to pay money for these we all want insure we get a good deal. Thats where MB Gardening Landscaping comes in. Over the years since 1995 we have become one of the leading landscape companies in the Medway towns and surrounding areas.

So if you are in the thinking of getting a new garden this year for all the family to enjoy then give us a call.

Regards Peter

Astro Turf a lush green lawn

Laying a new lawn gives the garden instant colour, imagine having that colour all year round, never having to lift a finger to acheive it nither.

Well you can, let us install astro turf for you, it can work out cheaper in the long run, no lawm mower to purchase and maintain, no lawn feed, nolawn moss killer, no lawn weed killer, just a safe play area for everyone with no chemicals to worry for your pets.

Just a lush green lawn to lounge around on, play footy on, just have fun.

Give it some though, astro turf allows water to pass through it so it will never get waterlogged.

See you soon!!

Spring time 2011

Whenever the sun shines it all makes the work in the garden worthwhile. Spring is not very far away and I, like most of us, like to see the first buds appear. Getting the work done in the garden of course is another matter. With many of us having busy lives, we dont get the time to acheive what we want to do with the plot of land we have.

As mentioned in the site, a family patio or deck does take a lot of time and effort to get it right.

Look forward to hearing from soon, where we will go through what you have in mind and leave the rest to us.

cards nearly ready

My loyalty cards are nearly ready, they are basically a large postcard for existing customers to keep and use at a later stage should they want some other work done. It will give them up to 20 per cent off the quoted price. If the client has no use for it they can pass it onto a family member or friend to use, but they would not get the discount, they would however get a great price as usual.

Loyalty cards coming soon

Working on the loyalty cards for 2011, will be sending them out to existing customers very soon. The scheme will be that you will get up to 20% off your next planned job, must use it within 12 months of the date given.

The date will on the card, only existing customers can use it.

You can pass it onto a friend if you wish, but they must use it within 6 months of the date on the card.

Only only one card per job is allowed. No other landscaping company offers this as far as I know.

It is not a gimmick and is a genuine offer. It is our way of saying thank you.

Regards Peter

Rogues part two

To get a decent garden landscaper needs some careful thinking. We all know about cowboy builders and the like, they are generally a bloke with a van, no cards, no invoices, no paperwork, no advertising, yet some of us fall foul of these people.

Nothing to be ashamed about in doing so, they are fairly convincing.

Be aware that the genuine landscapers have at least some cards to give, have the correct paperwork, invoices/Quotes, at least one advert. But we do have a van!!

Blog

I have a blog also on facebook, visit my page for more details, or stay on the site and see how we can help you.

thanks Peter

Planning 2011

Planning ahead in the garden for 2011 after the Christmas holidays? We are planning lots of new ways to acheive a result, best quality goods and great prices. No Vat to pay either.

Planning ahead for 2011

The garden at the moment might not be top of the list at the moment, but after the holiday festivities its a great time to plan ahead. When all is quite after the rush of Christmas its a time to reflect and take stock for the new year. And that includes plans you have for the garden.

Stocks of materials are high in most merchants, in the case of my supplier its certainly is.

They hold whats called a winter stock for the manufacturers so they have the levels to cope.

When you in mind what you would like to do, give us a call to discuss, free quotations and great prices, and no VAT to pay.

Decking

Had two recent enquirers for Decking, each completely different, and in different parts of kent, at each end so to speak. Both having handrails though.

To do them both would be a great opportunity towards new ideas for the future. Been constructing decking for many years now and one of them has a wheelchair ramp included. Which not only makes it different but its a joy to do.
